Play Gameworks is looking to connect people and cultures through games. This winter, we are offering students an opportunity to intern in our company, where you play an active role in our playMahjong project, a web-based online game, as well as early-stage development on a second game project. Interns will make meaningful contributions while also receiving an unparalleled “real-life” educational experience.

We are hiring for the following positions:

Technical:
- Software Engineering Intern (Full Stack, Front-end, Back-end)
- UI/UX Designer Intern
- Gaming R&D Intern

Non-Technical:
- Graphic Designer Intern
- Business Development Intern
- Marketing Intern

What we’re looking for in all positions:
- Flexible and can adapt to situations quickly
- A team player
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Plus: an interest in games and especially mahjong!

All positions are remote. Quality work and effort will lead to a return offer and negotiable compensation options.

Start/end dates and duration of internships are all flexible and can be part-time or full-time. The internship is unpaid, however, course credit can be granted with proper documentation. This internship is in accordance with the Department of Labor's Unpaid Internship Fair Standards Labor Act.

About Play Gameworks: We are a game-development startup founded in September 2020 and working to develop games that target people beyond the gaming circles in order to connect people and cultures socially, something important, especially during COVID-19.

Qualifications

We are looking to expand beyond our current project, playMahjong. Business Development Interns will play a key role in researching new opportunities for our company and work with our Gaming R&D Interns to decide on a second game project.

Requirements:
- Great communication skills as well as reading and writing skills
- Previous leadership experience
- An interest in gaming and game development
