Atento Capital is launching a pitch competition across 10 campuses for student entrepreneurs next year, where we will be investing up to $250,000 in some student teams that we believe have the potential to build successful tech companies. In conjunction with this initiative, we are offering students on each campus a paid venture capital fellowship to source and evaluate the deal flow on their campuses. During the Summer, you will go through a Venture Capital 101 course that will teach you the essential fundamentals of early stage investment process. This will include tutorials on how to source and evaluate deals, create financial models, understand valuations, complete market research, and decipher legal documents such as cap tables and term sheets. From the start of the school year through January, you will be responsible for the sourcing of deal flow from your respective campuses. Each week, you will connect with a member of our Investment Team for 30 minutes to discuss your findings and progress, as well as gain valuable mentorship and career advice. The month of February will be reserved for evaluating the deals that will be selected for our Tulsa based pitch competition in late March, which will be judged by representatives from some of the top student-focused venture capital funds in the country. If you source a company that advances to the finals, you will be responsible for writing an investment memo for submission to the Atento Capital team. You will receive a template for what should be included in the memo and be provided with guidance from the Atento team in crafting the document. Compensation: $4,000 base + up to $1,000 bonus Time Commitment: Varies, but expect 5-10 hours per week, plus 4 weekend intensives in Tulsa.
