WE ARE: ECQUINABIS –​Economic Equity in Cannabis* ​ – a compliance and diversity consulting firm for the highly regulated cannabis industry. We believe that the re-branding of cannabis and what some call the “green rush” must provide workable inclusion initiatives to correct the vicissitudes of the War on Drugs imprinted on minority communities. We maintain that it is a business imperative for the industry to create feasible strategies and opportunities for ownerships and participation by people of color and women in the emerging cannabis market. The cannabis industry is thriving but not for all. Help us create a brand within the cannabis industry that promotes wellness and builds a VC fund to support minority and female cannabis entrepreneurs.

SUMMARY: ​This is an unpaid virtual internship with a vibrant start-up. ​Under the direct supervision of the Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, the Intern MRNG-Brand and Marketing will actively support the launch of hemp CBD infused human care products and participate in the development of social media campaigns, web content and conduct online outreach and promotions using multiple platforms including, but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and more. ​The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) permits the interstate transfer of hemp products for commercial or other purposes. At this time, marijuana is legalized in eleven states and Washington, DC, for recreational use for adults over 21; and medical marijuana is legalized in 33 states and Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Understand the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
● Create and manage content designed to engage our target customer.
● Track social media growth and impact of marketing efforts.
● Reply to comments, messages on social media and other communications.
● Brainstorm campaign ideas.
● Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
● Analyze analytics to gauge the success of campaigns and posts.
● Provide suggestions to leadership for improving customer experience on social media platforms.
● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Pursuing, interested in or have a degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, Graphics Art or related field.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills: high proficiency with MS-Office, Apple and social media platforms.
● Demonstrated passion and involvement in economic and social justice matters.
● Knowledge of or interested in the natural haircare and skincare industry
● Strong skills in time management, creativity, and collaboration.
● Able to project professionalism over the phone and on virtual platforms.
● Willingness to take initiative and the ability to manage projects independently.
