Job Description

The Communications/PR Intern will assist Communications & Marketing department with any and all public relations and daily media relations. The Communications/PR Intern plays a vital role in all departmental activities, including assisting with day-to-day media relations, assisting with match previews, writing recaps and press releases, and other team media functions that occur. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a regular basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task.

The Communications/PR Internship is unpaid and available for college credit only. This internship is remote-only for the moment. Hours are flexible.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day media relations, including pitching stories ideas for local and national media outlets
- Create written content on a regular basis, including feature stories, previews and recaps.
- Maintain and archive all media coverage of the Club on a weekly basis.
- Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

- Applicants must be able to receive college credit for internship and pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, public relations or other related field
- Practice a professional attitude when working with outside sources
- Team player willing to work with all departments of staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently and remain organized
- Ability to communicate both orally and written
- Attention to detail is a must
- Working knowledge of AP Style Guidelines
